Library
:
The college has a well-equipped Library
with a spacious Reading Room attached to
it. It has a collection of about 60,000
books and subscribes to 11 types of periodicals.
Students may borrow two books from the
Library against their name-issue cards.
They may get another home-issue against
a refundable deposit of Rs. 100.00 (one
hundred only)against their library reference
cards.Students can consult reference books
and periodicals in the Library Reading Room.
A library software has been purchased.
Computerised databases are being developed.
The college has arranged an Institutional
membership with the British Council Library
and American Library.
Seminar Library :
Each department maintains a seminar library,
an additional facility for the students
of Honours classes to borrow reference books.
College Magazine :
The College Magazine is published once
a year and every regular student is entitled
to have a copy of the magazine. Periodical
wall magazine is another incentive to students
creativity.
Cultural & literary Activities
:
Students of the college participate in
Annual Inter-Class and Inter-College cultural
and literary competitions.
Modern Fitnes Centre:
The college has lately opened and highly
well equipped multi-GYM funded by the department
of youth & sports , Government of India.It
offers facility to both the students and
stuff of the college.
Games and Sports :
Students are encouraged to take part in
outdoor games. Inter-Class tournaments in
Football/Cricket, and even indoor game are
arranged annually. The College also participates
in Inter-College Sports Meets and competitions.
Annual Athletic Meet runs successfully
with active participation of the students,
the teaching and non-teaching staff of the
college. Concession and other facilities
are granted to sportsmen.
Placement Cell :
A Placement cell has been formed for making
arrangements for the placement of our students
in Industries. In this year many students
have been appointed as programmer trainees
in leading Software companies. Interested
students are to contact Prof. Saswati Chakraborty,
Department of Computer Science.
Counselling Cell :
The college runs a counselling cell that
provides opportunity to the students to
attain both academic & personal advice
on their problems.
Grievance Redressal Cell :
The college offers help to any & every
kind of difficulty or trouble taced by the
students (and staff)of the college.
Parents’ Interaction :
Frequent interaction are encouraged among
the teachers authorities and parents of
the students where parents can express their
views and expectation from the college.
After each examination, guardians are called
to discuss the overall performance of the
students, particularly of those who do not
score satisfactorily or do not attend classes
regularly.
Publications :
The college prides over the regular publication
of a news bulletin step and a periodical
growth Moreover, there is an annual publication
of Academic Calendar and Diary for the benefit
of the students and staff of the college.
Book Bank :
The college provide a book bank (covering
book for all streams) for poor meritorious
students.

Cheap store of the college is set up to
supply book s , khatas and other academics
imputs to students at reasonable rates.Xerox-facility
is also available in the cheap store.
Canteen :
The college houses two separate canteens
for the staff and the students.
Recreation Club :
The non-teaching stuff of the college runs
a recreations clubs,that organise multifarious
entertaining functions.The secretrary of
the club is Mr.Dinobondhu Roy.
Hostel Accomodation :
Hostel accomodations as available for the
female students of the college at Maharani
Kasiswari College Student Hostel which is
adjacent to the college .
Common Room :
There are separate Common Rooms for boys
and girls. A number of Magazines and newspapers
are subscribed to the common Rooms. There
is also arrangement for indoor games like
Table-Tennis, Carrom inside the Common Rooms.
College Union :
There is a College Union for students which
is intended to foster corporate life in
the College and to arrange debates, seminars
and social functions, and to assist in the
publication of College Magazine, management
of Students' Cheap Canteen, Cheap Store
and Common Room, and also to organise games
and sports, cultural meets, educational
excursions and similar other extra-academic
activities.
Alumni Association :
The College Alumni Association ‘PRAKTANI’
formed five years ago, functions independently
and actively participates in academic, administrative,
literary & cultural programmes associated
with the college. All ex-students are eagerly
solicited to become members of the association
to retain their life-long link with the
institution that graduated them.
Extension Services :
College students are encouraged to participate
in various social and extension activities.
UGC has provide asistance to undertake such
services.
Teacher' council :
Teachers' council ,the body of teachers
of the college , carries out various academic
programmes , helps to conducts examination,
organises seminers , workshop to promote
academic standard and descipline of college
students .
Students Health Home :
The College is an Institutional member
of the Students Health Home. All regular
students of the college are entitled to
receive benefits of medical treatment offered
by the Students Health Home. The main centre
is situated at Moulali ,kolkata .It runs
a full fledged hospital with all mordern
facility .A North Kolkata Regional Centre
of the Students Health Home has been opened
at S.A. Jaipuria College that runs from
4 p.m. to 6 p.m. each working day.Medicine
and service of doctors including specialists
in different filed as E.N.T. eye chest etc.
are available for only Rs 2/- per day.
College Health Unit :
Supervisor : Dr. Jyoti Prakash Mitra
Medical care organised by the NSS unit
of the College helps the students and the
staff to undergo primary health check up
on the College premises.
Dr. G. Bedajna will attend patients on
Tuesday (4 pm. - 5 pm.)
National Service Scheme (NSS) :
The scheme is recognised by the UGC.The
scheme is a part of comunity extension service..
At the time of seeking admission to the
next higher class due credit ,according
to percentage of marks of qualifying examinations
is given to the NSS unit and Dr.Jyoti Prakash
Mitra,Supervisor of the college health unit.
National Cadet Corps (NCC) :
There are two NCC unit in our college ,
one for only Girl students and another for
both Boys and Girls . NCC parades and classes
are held on the Saturday and Sunday interested
students are to contact Prof. Sipra Majundar
and Prof. Prasun Majhi, oficer-in-charge
of NCC units .
